A presentation organized by the
OEFFA; featuring Joe Logan,
OEC & Michelle Gregg, OEFFA
(Twitter, Facebook)

David feels this is a very important topic for people to be aware of, land owners or non-land owners, because everyone will be affected. If we don’t protect our water it’s not just the cows and lambs that won’t have safe water to drink, it’s us as well.

The slides from the webinar are attached above!
Below is a PDF of information that was sent out by the OEFFA after the webinar (for additional information).

This information was in reference to questions that were brought up during the webinar.

  • If you're a landowner, or would like to take local action/organize, NEOGAP (Network to Educate and Organize for Gas Accountability and Protection) may be a resource for you: www.neogap.org   The best way to contact NEOGAP is by phone or email; that information is listed on the website.
  • If you would like to get involved in the general movement in Ohio, then the No Frack Ohio Coalition may be a resource for you: www.nofrackohio.com  This is an umbrella organization of various groups working on this issue in Ohio.
  • The Ohio Environmental Council has additional resources and information on its website: http://www.theoec.org/Fracking.htm
  • Food and Water Watch, which is part of the No Frack Ohio consortium, has organizing information and reports on its website: http://www.foodandwaterwatch.org/water/fracking/fracking-action-center/  A recent paper it issued, which I did not find on the website, is attached.
  • The Columbus Dispatch recently did an investigative series on fracking: http://www.dispatch.com/content/topic/news/2011/ohio-drilling.html
  • A "Fracking In the Foodshed" PowerPoint presentation was developed by New York state activists Martha Goodsell, Bob and Chris Applegate: http://nyrad.org/downloads.html

Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution
Maybe LA Was a Big Mistake
|Season 2: Episode 1.|

We at Bluescreek Farm Meats are very impressed with the tenacity that Jamie Oliver has displayed in his effort to truly inform people about what they (and their kids) are actually eating on a daily basis (without their knowledge)!

His most recent episode has prompted a lot of questions about our meat.
We pride ourselves on grinding our meat fresh (with NO additives or meat cleaning agents).  We have never, and will never, use ammonia or “pink slime” in our ground meat.

We think it is very important that whatever we sell to our customers, we would also feed to our family! That is exactly why one of our main slogans has always been “for the health of our children.” Not JUST our two kids, but yours as well.

If you have any questions about our meat (that we have not already answered on our site) PLEASE contact us! We are always happy to provide information to individuals seeking to better their knowledge of good’ol fashioned meat that has been raised and handled properly!
